This app is great ! It could use some updates as we hit places where it was talking about dates in 2010 but otherwise good ! Recommended !!

Ive purchased a lot of apps over the years but this one was one of the best. It made the road to Hana so much more enjoyable. The directions were spot on from the commentary and brought such great history on the trip. I would recommend the full version as it adds much to the whole island. If you visit Maui buy this app

My cell internet is better than my wifi. Why not have a choice ?

So happy we bought the full tour instead of just the road to Hana section. Bought an AUX cord and used it throughout our whole week visiting Maui.

At the suggestion of one of the locals on Maui, this app is well worth it. We used this on the road to Hana and it was spot on. Even when I lost signal, the app continued to work like a charm, giving commentary on the most noteworthy places to stop, along with some of Mauis historical information. Dont your the island without it. Its much cheaper than hiring a tour guide!

Great tool while we stay in Maui! Found ppl recommend it for the Road to Hana, bought the $10 version for the Maui. Checked it out before our trip to Hana, its so so on the drives around west Maui, Lahaina... However, when we drove today to Hana, it shows its value!!! No cellular signal all the way to Hana, the Gypsy Guide is the only thing we can rely on (I guess the GPS signal is still good, just no cell signal) for the whole round trip to Hana! Definitely 5 stars!

This app doesnt support background music play like the Maui gps tour guide. Its also missing a lot of attractions which that app has, particularly in south Maui. And why is the map so bad? On the plus side the audio is hi fidelity and easy to hear even from the iPhone speaker. Would love to see more points of interest covered, and the ability to play music while the app runs.

Going to Maui for the first time was a great trip. I am so glad we had this app! I was totally entertained by all the history and information by the narrator of the app. If you ever visit Maui, this app is a must.

This app gave us so much info that you would have only received from getting on a guided bus. The best app you can buy for Maui! From the sunrise at Haleakala to the beach, road to Hana & beach info this gave us a great idea on what to see during our time on Maui!

Best 10 dollars spent on Maui!! Works like a charm and very interesting and easy voices to listen to! Only thing I would add is some Hawaiian music In between spots of interest!

I looked at the price & cringed at tad, unsure if it was really going to be worth it. It was totally worth it! The guides point out all the important places to stop & gives great information about Maui along the route. It really made our experience very special. The only possible way to improve the app would be a way to play music (Pandora, etc) in between the commentary. Maybe there is a way & I didnt figure it out. Be sure to bring a car charger to Maui with you.

App is not compatible with iph 5 and 6. When i paid $10 for an app i was expecting updated app.

Loved! Make sure to bring car charger and aux adapter cord. Made the long road to Hana and trip to Haleakala fun and exciting. Bummer no music app can play in background. Make sure you know beforehand your route--tour ends and guide will tell you not to go all the way around the island--it is possible we learned the later. You will have no cell signal.

Believe the other reviews, definitely worth the 10 bucks! Requires wifi to download, so get it ahead of time. Bought this on a whim when we discovered our rental car had no CD player for the disk we were planning to use...probably the best "problem" Ive had! This app is great. The GPS locations are spot on, and the commentary is interesting and informative. It even gives you decent driving directions to get around without the need for a map. As stated, the download includes all the data so lack of cellular coverage was never a problem. Theres a free trial version if you want to test the water before diving in... I checked their web page, and they have tours for many other tourist areas so Im planning on getting one next time we go, even if Ive been there before.

I dont write reviews however this is a fantastic app for visitors to the beautiful island of Maui. I live on Maui part time and have driven the road to Hana countless times. I purchased the app driving a friend/visitor on the road to Hana. The app not only gives you details and history all while being prompted by gps placement. Hope you enjoy!

We used this app for our second trip to Hana. It suggested stops we would have missed. On the return trip the guide gives a nice history of Hawaii. The narrator has a nice conversational flow. Highly recommended.

This app doesnt work as you would think. You have to Manually enter act with your phone or iPad to make it talk at every interest point. The app says just drive but instead of enjoying your sites you have too mess with your phone the whole trip. Dont waste your $$$ on this one get the Maui Reveled app instead.

We purchased the full island version. After driving the entire island over 14 days, we would advise against purchasing the full island version. The Hana version however is very concise and I would suggest purchasing. The main issue with the full island version is different roads have different narrators and dramatically reduced content for everything beyond Hana. It sound like the company recorded the Hana version, had positive feedback, and then pieced together a bad version for the rest of the island. Not to be entirely negative, the Hana portion of the trip made this a well worthwhile portion.

Did the full island tour yesterday. It was great. Our rental car did not have a AUX jack so could not play it through the car speakers which would have been nice. I brought a small portable speaker just in case, and it worked great. Sat it on the armrest between the front seats and all could hear fine. I wouldnt want to take the tour without it. Besides all the useful info, it also does an excellent job of navigating. Tells you which lane to get in well in advance of turns. One thing I was unsure of was whether you had to begin the tour at the beginning. You dont. The tour "begins" in Waikiki but we were going to Pearl Harbor first. When I started the app after PH, as soon as I was on the right road, it picked up from there. If you want to see something off the tour, just do it. Whenever you get back to the tour route, it picks up at that point and continues. Well worth the money even though I will probably not have a chance to use it again. Going to Maui tomorrow. Already have the Maui app downloaded.

This app is amazing. We just got back from Maui. We used this app for the week we were there. Not once did we ever have any trouble getting around. The information contained in it is amazing. History lessons and directions. The app even tells you were parking spots are along the highway. The only thing I found incorrect was the park fee to get into 7 pools or Haleakala is $15 not $10 and they do take credit cards at the top of Haleakala. I am sure those changes since it was put out. I would have to say this is probably the best app I have ever paid for. Well worth the money!!!!
