This app is terrific. An excellent guide. Doesnt require any data usage. Its a battery hog though so make sure you can plug your phone in on the drive.

We bought this app when we got to Maui, just before heading to Hana! It was one of the best decision we have ever made! It made our trip 10000 times better... Without the app, we would have missed so many amazing spots...

We recently went on a trip to Maui, I have to say, without this app, our trip would have been a disaster. This app helped us straight out of the airport, to the crater, and on the road to Hana, all while giving exceptional information and tips. I Highly recommend this to anyone who wants to do some exploring on their own .

Used it from Lahaina to Hana, Maui. Worth every penny, pointed out great places to stop, loads of history and facts and even tells you where to turn. Brilliant!

We knew nothing about Maui. The guide was uncannily accurate, pointing out interesting things and offering advice on what to do (and not do!) in plenty of time to make choices. Our trip was greatly enhanced by having this available. Can recommend it without reservation. If these guys sold stock, Id buy some.

Used this in a rental car with blue tooth stereo and was able to drive around and hear all the history of Maui and secret turn off spots. Worked great and totally worth the money. A must if you are going on the road to Hana!

I dont write a lot of reviews but I wanted to for this app. We visited Maui and used this app while driving around and exploring the island, I highly recommend getting this app!! The commentary was great and we learned a bunch of history on the locations we went to and it added an enjoyable extra to our drives. Only thing I wished was for the commentary to continue past the "seven sacred pools" as we drove around the South end of the island, which it didnt

This app was good 2yrs ago but since then it hasn’t had updates. Most importantly app doesn’t run in background and on ios8 devices GPS doesn’t always activate even after rebooting phone and reinstalling app.

We dont normally write reviews but this app is so good we broke the rule. A great GPS guide as well as educational and fun commentary. The information presented in the commentary is interesting without being too commercial or overwhelming. The GPS is very accurate, down to which lane or parking lot you should use. If you just listen to "George" and "Georgia" (as we affectionately named them) you cant get lost. The directions are spot on. They also provide great options for long routes (such as The Road to Hana), giving you suggestions for all the stops or providing a list of highlights if you are trying to keep to a schedule. Well worth the $12 (CAD) we paid. Absolutely a must for a trip to Mauii. Also saw a comment regarding iPhone operating system ios8, worked fine for us though it does have to be running in the foreground - that being said, dont know why you would want/need it in the background, as the whole point of this app is to listen and learn, not check email or Facebook (especially if you are the driver!!) TL;DR: download this app. Its awesome.

Really a great app. Hook it up or blue tooth it and the guides just start telling you great stuff as you drive. One of the best apps I have purchased to date!

This app was exceptional once we got the rental car to play it through the speakers. The only item I would recommend would be to play music in the background or in between the speaking parts.

This was a great app. Well worth the money. I highly recommend it. Informative, entertaining and a must if youre planning on touring Maui.

Used for the Road to Hana route and Haleakala National Park. This is the second gypsy app I have purchased and it is just as good as the other one! Besides directions the guy tells you good places to stop for a bite to eat and also gas stations etc. Worth every penny.

A great way to explore Maui, find the best sites, and learn about Hawaiian history and culture. Like hiring a professional tour guide, but less intrusive and allows you to go at your own pace. Four stars instead of five because app must be open in order to function, which limits the functionality of iPhone while app is running.

Accurate and interesting. You will need a cable or booster if you plan to use for long periods.

This app took us on tours all over Maui - not just the Road to Hana. The commentary was interesting and sometimes even a bit funny. The gps was also spot on. Well worth the ten bucks!

Ive taken a lot of guided tours and this app was like having a tour guide in the car and no tipping at the end! Weve done the road to Hana before but now I know there was so much I missed. My favorite was the alert that there was a rainbow eucalyptus tree coming up and sure enough, there it was. The recommendations for stopping were spot on and we used the app all week around the island. Download before you go and make sure you are on wifi. We were wishing we had speakers for the benefit of the back seat because the rental didnt have blue tooth. By the way, I have never done a review of an app and this is the first time I was impressed enough to share.
