6 stars! Im not one to review apps. This app is so good that I had to let everyone know. It definitely made our first trip to Maui memorable. Its ridiculously easy to use, the narrator (weve named him Steve) has wit and fun stories, and we explored the best of Maui.

This app is awesome and well worth every penny. I cannot recommend it enough.

This was the best money spent on our trip. I just wish I would have turned him on after getting the rental car at the airport, a must when you get settled into the car!!! Mahalo

This has to be one of the most amazing apps out there. Using your GPS location, the app will tell you places of interest, amazing places to eat and shop as well as warn you of pitfalls. On the way back there is a detailed history of the island from pre-Cook to post world war 2. We completed The Road to Hana which is located on this App. The one thing that was confusing was that pressing Hana seemed like just a review. It turns out that when you start driving the detailed directions start. There is no need for Maps, Google Maps, wifi or 3G. The app uses your onboard GPS. And if you are staying at one of the resorts, the App will guide you back to your hotel. What is amazing about this App is that the guide literally knows every nuance of the trail, including literally telling you how to avoid nasty accidents. The road to Hana is filled with over 600 turns and multiple one lane bridges and intersections. This App guides you through them. It also tells you where not to stop and the best places to go for taking pictures and shopping. Hana itself was not so much of a tourist destination. It is a small town with wonderful people who live relatively normal lives. It is quaint in that it tries to preserve a lot of Old Hawaii and I felt like an intruder at times. As the narrator states midway through the tour The Road to Hana is really about the journey and everything in between, including talking to family, eating fish tacos, banana bread and gelatos and conversing with the locals. The App really details this and is representative of a great journey. This is one of the best apps I have ever used. It is worth every penny. If you are in Maui and clueless about what to do, this is better than a guided tour of the island. Well done!

This guide was recommended to me by a local coffee shop owner in Paaia on Maui. The best money ever spent. The way the information are presented is very insightful, educational and entertaining. It made the exploration off Maui so much fun. Even my small kids loved it. Highly recommended.

I used this app through the whole Road to Hana and intermittently throughout the rest of my driving in Maui. The narrator had a great voice, continuously provided helpful information, and on the way back from Hana gave a great history of the Hawaiian islands and their incorporation into the US. So glad a friend recommended it to me!

Good idea but inconvenience ,dangerous and poorly implemented because this app should allow you to use it with google map or other maps as if it is one app. You have to open both maps one for gps turn by turn guidance and one for audio and have to switch back and forth continously in order to look at direction and reactivate audio. Do this for road to Hana and you may not make it back alive. This app needs to be redesigned to integrate with google map for convenience and safety then it will be a 5 star app.

We were hesitant about getting the app but SO glad we decided to get it. This app is so awesome! The history we learned about Hawaii was interesting. It keeps it light so that its not too boring and is very interesting. There are so many stops we would have missed if we would not have had the app. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who is doing the Road to Hana. My only suggestion is to just go ahead and buy the whole package tour because its worth it. You wont be disappointed.

Absolutely Amazing! Gypsy has really helped us out in Maui. Without him our trip wouldve of just been beach time. Gypsy has told us so much about Maui and all the places to stop for a little something extra. His commentary is also funny. On the Road to Hana he told us the places to stop that we wouldve never bothered to see because they didnt look like much. Gypsy also had fascinating stories to share too.Overall Gypsy was a great addition to our trip.

I just got here to Kauai but they dont have a gypsy app for Kauai I tried the ultimate guide of Kauai but it wasnt what I was hoping for so I tried Kauai Shaka which was a little better but not quite like gypsy if youre going to Maui get the gypsy app you wont be disappointed

This was such a great investment of $9.99! It made our whole trip to Maui a lot easier. The guide was super helpful and informative, and my family looked forward to whenever it would chime in with a hint or story to share. My advice: download the app on wifi, then enjoy it for your whole stay on the beautiful island of Maui!

I dont usually write reviews but I had to for this incredible app. We used it on the Road to Hana in Maui and it was terrific. I dont think the drive would have nearly been as good without it. The GPS activated commentary allowed us to stop at places we probably would have missed. The directions were excellent (especially considering there was no mobile service). And the Hawaiian history was interesting and made the drive back fly by. Great App!

Bought the full tour the day we drove up to Haleakala. Everyone in the car agreed it was worth more than $10 just for that part, and we had the road to Hana and the rest of the island as bonus material! Can trigger individual points manually, so we could replay what he said if someone didnt catch it all - which also helped when we got back to the mainland and could play some for people at home.

This is an awesome app. We have toured the complete island at our own pace. Our app tour guide was great. We spent the first 5 days on Oahu no car, and was at the mercy of many bus and trolley tours time constraints. This was by far the cheapest item we purchased on the island and well worth it. Mahalo.

My wife and I had the best time being guided around Maui by the Gypsy narrator (we named him Jim). The suggested places to see and notice along the way were so helpful and accurate. Plus the cultural and historical highlights along the way just made it fun and fascinating. When we would meet other visitors along the way we would let them know about this must-have app.

We throughly enjoyed this app on our trip to Maui. At first I was a little reluctant but as soon as our tour guide started not to only give us hints but history as well. We were hooked. Suggests things to do and places to see. Told us the ins and outs to parking and beach access. We actually did things on this vacation because of this guide which we otherwise would have never know about. Well worth every penny.
